My journey into welding began at the age of 9 when my Grandfather, who worked in the oilfield, brought home a broken welding machine. Witnessing the magic of fixing it up and striking my first weld ignited a lifelong passion for welding.
I was drawn to welding for its travel opportunities and rewarding paychecks. I've accumulated a lot of experience in welding, I chased oil rigs across the Midwest and Southwest regions of the United States. Additionally, I've worked building aluminum livestock trailers and in gas distribution. Beyond welding, I find joy in various outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and horseback riding.
At Western Welding Academy, the richness of diversity among both instructors and students is what stands out to me. Every day brings unique challenges and opportunities, making the learning environment truly dynamic. One of the aspects I value most is setting high standards for students in the classroom. I believe that holding them accountable for both classroom and pipefitting skills is crucial, as they are equally important to welding proficiency in the shop.
