I decided I wanted to learn to weld because I grew up around it, and it’s a versatile skill that you can use out in the field and back at home. Before I came to Western Welding Academy, I had worked on industrial construction for about 24 years helping build power plants, refineries, compressor units, and all kinds of stuff all over the west.

It’s incredibly rewarding to get to pass on everything that I’ve learned to the students here and give them a leg-up on their career when they get out into the field. Every instructor has spent time under the hood on job sites so students aren’t only learning valuable skills, they’re getting real world knowledge too.

When I’m not here, I’m usually enjoying the outdoors camping or riding dirt bikes.
