Are tours available?

Yes. We encourage anyone that is interested in a pipe welding career to come tour our training center. Call 307-282-0884 to schedule your tour.

How old do I need to be to begin?

Students must be at least 18 years old on the first day of training.

Where are you located?

We are located in Gillette, Wyoming

How can student pay for tuition?

There are a couple ways students can pay their tuition. They can go to a local bank and get a personal loan, or they can get a loan from one of our in house student financing companies.

Can I use FAFSA to cover tuition?

At this time Western Welding Academy does not qualify for FAFSA.

Are there finance options?

Yes. We have many financing companies we work with.

Is a GED or Diploma required to enroll?


Does WWA offer housing?

No. We maintain a list in our break room of available housing options and a list of people interested in a roommate to split the housing cost.

What do I need to bring?

A strong work ethic, and a can-do attitude.

Can I take classes while in high school?

No. Our classes are 5 days a week, at this time we do not offer part time classes.

Can I pay using personal loan?

Yes. Most banks have personal loan options to help pay tuition.

Can I transfer training I have already had?

No. Previously training may allow a student to complete our courses faster but Western Welding Academy does not recognize training from other trade schools or colleges.

Do you offer courses for specific welding processes and/ or upgrades

Yes. We offer combo pipe course for people interested in a pipe welding career. We also offer structural welding courses for people interested in a structural welding career. The advanced pipeline welding course is only available to students that have graduated from combo pipe course and have worked in the field for at least 1 year.

How long is the course?

The Combo Pipe Course (our most poplular) takes 20 weeks to complete.

Do I need previous experience or knowledge of this field?


What will I receive upon successful completion of the program?

All graduates get a certificate of completion, welding certifications, and 3 employment opportunities.

Is all equipment provided on arrival?

Yes all personal protective equipment, and  welding gear is provided the first day of class.
